Story
"Come on, Cell! I'm Artificial Human #17, the strongest fighter in the world! I can't lose to you!"
"What was that?"
"I couldn't hear you over the sound of me beating your ass."
Despite #17's endless bravado and stamina, he's no match for the powered up Cell. It takes all he has just to struggle against Cell's tail; His method for assimilation. Yet, #17 still has one protector left to him...
"Excuse me..."
"... may I cut in?"
According to #16's calculations, he and Cell are about even in power. Even though he's non-violent, for the sake of the Earth, he will fight before meeting Son Goku... to protect his friends and stop Cell from becoming Perfect!
Cell strikes back by trying to absorb 16's bio energy.
It doesn't work out.
"Fuck me."
#16 manages to overpower Cell and tear off his tail, but Cell uses Piccolo's Namekian DNA to regenerate himself. Though 16 seemingly would have preferred to stop Cell without taking his life, it becomes clear that's his only option. (And really, what would he do if Cell couldn't regrow limbs? Just tear off all of Cell's limbs and keep him as a weird torso thing that he feeds? You really didn't think that through, #16.)
Then shit gets awesome.
OOOOOH YEEEEAAAUUHHHH
"#17! Now you need to run! I've only weakened him!"
"Run?! I'm Artificial Human #17, the strongest fighter in the world! I can't lose to anyone!"
*glomp*
"SUCK. MY. DICK."
Suck Cell's proverbial dick 17 did, as he was swiftly assimilated into the monstrous Artificial Human's being. Not because Piccolo and #16 didn't do all they could to stop him... but because #17 is a cocky fuckhead.

As Cell begins to change and morph into some new monster, 16 makes a mad dash for 18, so that he might prevent Cell, at the very least, from absorbing her as well.
"... #16..."
"... what have you done..."
"... to my nose?!"
#16 is easily swatted away by Cell. (Using Vegeta's Big Bang Attack, no less?) Leaving #18 with one recourse...
Self-destruction.
Cell tries to appeal to 18 by using 17's voice to convince her how wonderful it is to become a part of the so-called Perfect being. But he gives himself away when he starts talking about finishing Dr. Gero's noble work -- As the twin Artificial Humans weren't exactly fans of the guy who presumably kidnapped them before converting them into cyborgs against their will.
Yet Cell is still willing to bet he can absorb her faster than she can self-destruct!
That is, until...
"HEY! FISH LIPS!"
"WHAT'S MY MOTHERFUCKING NAME?!"
"... Tenshinhan?!"
"YOU GOD DAMN RIGHT, BITCH."
What's cut?
In DBZ 151, #16 and Cell's fight is a few minutes longer.
And in DBZ 152, we see extra shots of #18 unwilling to escape without #16.
