Dragon Ball Z ep 58 - Freeza's Secret Weapon! The Devilish Ginyu Tokusentai

Some Generic Freeza Minions (G.F.M.) inform their lord Freeza of the current developments; Zarbon has not returned, and the Ginyu Tokusentai are leaving from Planet Freeza immediately. Freeza assumes Zarbon is either dead or has fled. Either way, he is surprised at how such a simple mission has turned out. Had he known, he would have brought the Tokusentai from the start.

Goku's Kamehameha is no match for 100x gravity. (Because spiritual energy is effected by gravitational pulls, I guess?) Stuck in a magnetic storm, he has an hour before the gravity machine reverts back to normal. However, his body will be unable to hold out that long, so he must try his hardest to turn the machine off manually, or die before reaching Planet Namek.

Vegeta has outwitted his former mafia bosses, Freeza and Zarbon. First he pretended to escape outside, then he revealed he was actually inside. And during the confusion, he blasted a hole in Freeza's spaceship's ceiling, chucked all five of Freeza's Dragon Balls far, far away, and then dived into a nearby river to swim his getaway. For a psycho killer with a ridiculous receding hairline, you're pretty cool, Vegeta.

Dragon Ball Z ep 52 - Listen to Me, Goku! Hands Off Freeza

Yamcha - having arrived at Kaio-sama's Planet in record time with Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu (though I can only assume Yamcha came in last place out of the four of them) - reunites via Kaio's telepathy with an excited Son Goku. The two old friends exchange pleasantries, and then Goku explains the situation; Gohan, Kuririn, and Bulma are on Planet Namek to find the Dragon Balls, but Vegeta and another dude way stronger than Vegeta are there for them also.

Kuririn, Bulma, and Gohan enjoy a meal after their long day. Kuririn tries to convince Dende to eat as well, but it turns out that Namekians only drink water. (Somebody needs to tell Piccolo Daimao and Piano.) Kuririn asks about the vegetables the Namekians were cultivating - if not for food, why?

Dragon Ball Z ep 50 - Escape from a Burning Planet!! A Life-or-Death Kamehameha

With Dodoria dead, Vegeta is confident it is only a matter of time before he, Vegeta-sama, will have taken possession of the Dragon Balls. Without Scouters, Freeza and Zarbon are helpless to track Vegeta's movements around Namek. (Though it makes you wonder, wouldn't you have back up Scouters on your spaceship? Or better yet, built-in Scouter systems? Probably better not to think too hard about it.) But something about Dodoria's words have him concerned - Earthlings, on Namek? Now that he thinks about it, he can feel two powerful kis flying away from where he just fought Dodoria. He decides to check them out.

I love when Dragon Ball Z episode titles spoil the ending of the episode for you.

Dodoria is unable to find Kuririn, Gohan, and Dende, thanks to a combination of the Taiyo-ken, and Elder Muri's destruction of the Scouters. So Dodoria opts to end the search the good ol' fashioned way; by blowing up everything around him. Luckily, Dodoria is pretty dumb and flies off without searching for bodies.

Elder Muri has destroyed all the Scouters remaining to Freeza and his forces. Dodoria launches furiously at the elderly Namekian, intent to make him pay for their lost technology - and the key to their finding the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek. But Freeza shouts him down, ordering him to take out the younger Namekian warriors first. Dodoria is delighted to do so.

Kuririn and Gohan watch helplessly as Freeza and his goons harass the people of a small Namekian tribe. Gohan wonders if the men are Saiyans, but Kuririn doesn't think so; Gohan and his father aside, Vegeta is supposed to be the last Saiyan in the universe (if you exclude Tarble, Tullece, Broly, Paragus, and a dimension-hopping Bardock, sure).

The plot thickens for our heroes, as Freeza and his space gangsters fly past the cave they have found for shelter. Their kis are incredible, with Freeza's ki reading to Gohan and Kuririn as something in a universe far beyond Vegeta. Assuming by their armor that they're Vegeta's allies, Kuririn has Bulma check the Dragon Radar. Four Dragon Balls. They already have four Dragon Balls. There's nothing else for it; Bulma will contact Earth and update them on the situation, while Kuririn and Gohan try and find a way to steal those Dragon Balls...!!

After struggling through space orphans, space turbulence, fake Namekians, and a gaseous planetoid, our heroes have finally arrived on the true Planet Namek. But already things bode ill for the trio of Kuririn, Bulma, and Son Gohan. Vegeta has arrived on the planet, fully recovered, and eager to find the Dragon Balls to see his own twisted schemes come to fruition. And behind Vegeta, Kewie has come to Namek, pursing the Saiyan Prince by the order of Freeza, the space godfather.

Bonus Content! Space Orphans, Fake Nameks, and Evil Scientists, oh my!

When I started Dragon Blog, I didn't take near as many screencaps as I do now. I regret that now, I think, as the caps have become one of the most fun (if time consuming) parts of updating this blog. Given that, I plan on releasing this sections of "Bonus" caps more often, so that they don't end up ridiculously huge posts as the last few have. 

So here's a modest few extra screencaps taken since the "Freeza Saga" began.

Dragon Ball Z ep 44 - A Tough New Enemy! Freeza, Emperor of the Universe

Gohan and Kuririn have been captured by vile Squidmen monsters, as Lychee and Zarkuro reveal themselves, and the planet, to be an illusionary farce planted in their minds by the dastardly duo. They swoop the Dragon Radar from Bulma, and explain how they'll be going after the Dragon Balls themselves - and in Kami-sama's space ship! It turns out that Lychee and Zarkuro have been trapped on this vile rock for a very long time, and they fooled our heroes until the fog preventing escape from the gaseous planet shifted to allow their escape.

Dragon Ball Z ep 43 - The Dragon Balls are All Found! Piccolo-san Will Also Come Back to Life

Kuririn, Bulma, and Gohan's search for the last Dragon Balls of Planet Namek continues when they find the sixth ball trapped within a block of ice. Gohan and Kuririn melt it very slowly, so as not to cause the frozen cave to collapse. Strangely, Zarkuro is no where to be seen.
