Gohan practices new catchphrases and poses in the mirror as Great Saiyaman.
Chichi comes in to tell Gohan to get into bed, lest he oversleep and find himself late for school. Gohan says not to worry about it!
The next day, running late for school (shoulda listened to mom), Gohan flies atop Orange Star High School in his Saiyaman uniform.
... where he runs into Angela, a girl from his class.
Gohan laughs as he races away like a spazz, but deep down the sinking feeling sets in: She knows his secret identity as Great Saiyaman! It distracts him in class, getting him in trouble with his teacher and sent out in the hallway to hold buckets of water. In class, Angela finds herself distracted, as well.
Ladies love Gohan.
Getting herself sent out to the hallway with Gohan, Angela asks him if he has a girlfriend. Gohan doesn't really know what to say, so Angela takes that as a yes and starts wailing. Gohan tries to calm her down when Angela reveals that she knows his secret! Gohan tries to placate her. Angela suggests they go on a date! Gohan, grudgingly, agrees.
Because if you really like someone, you should blackmail them.
Gohan comes home to ask his mom a pretty awkward question. What's this date business about? What was her and Son Goku's first date like? Chichi goes misty-eyed in reminiscence.
Chichi explains to Goku that a date is where a couple do the most fun thing a boy and girl can do together.
Goku thinks he has a pretty good idea of what that is.
Chichi stammers, overcome with romance...
... when Goku sends a flying jab at her!
And the young couple happily enjoy a rousing spar.
"Goku-sa's jab from back then is even now engraved on my heart."
(Gosh, Chichi, you kawaii as HFIL.)
The following Sunday, Gohan meets Angela at Satan City Station for their date. She asks him what he'd like to do first, and Gohan just sorta stammers. Angela takes that to mean a movie, so she drags him off to the theater.
("omg edward is so sugoi!")
("My abs are better than that werewolf kid.")
After the movies (which Gohan falls asleep during, causing Angela to storm out of the theater), Angela decides they should go out for coffee. She instructs Gohan on the proper etiquette - asking the girl the amount of sugars she takes. Angela, as if to compliment her sickeningly sweet voice, asks for thirteen sugars. (Gross.)
Throughout the course of their coffee, Angela reveals that she finds his secret "cute" and was surprised to find out about it, having never thought about it by the look of Gohan.
Gohan makes this expression the whole time.
(Close your mouth, you ape.)
(Oh, right, carry on.)
The couple go to a walk, when suddenly...
... Gohan spots a building on fire!
Atop the skyscraper, Videl has already gone into action to unleash the water valve and put out much of the fire so helicopters can rescue the people on the roof. (Because Videl is a fucking badass.)
Just in time, Great Saiyaman arrives to assist!!!
But after the day is saved, Videl spots Gohan wandering around the scene. Suspicious enough of him, she confronts Gohan about any secrets he might be hiding...
That's when Angela shows up, thinking Videl is his girlfriend, and prepares to spill the beans about Gohan's "secret"!
Gohan screams like a spazz.
Then Angela reveals Gohan secret to Videl:
He wears teddy bear underpants.
As it turns out, she never saw him leave his Saiyaman costume.
Feeling bad, the next day Gohan tracks down Angela to apologize.
... and he sees her already asking out another boy.
High School is a strange place.
Not my favorite filler, but not the worst either.
