Dragon Ball GT ep 62 - Save Goku! A Final Ally Appears

Goku has a Dragon Ball growing out of his head.

Specifically, the Four-Star Dragon Ball, which he ate a few minutes ago.

Without Goku's Super Saiyan 4 power, he and Vegeta can't fuse into Gogeta again to finally kill Yi Shen Long. And without Gogeta, no one is strong enough to kill the One-Star Evil Dragon. Which means everyone is fucked. Then a Dragon Ball shows up, growing from Goku's head, and Chichi and the others get understandably distressed.

But the Dragon Ball leaves Goku's head, it becomes Goku's friend and rival (and boyfriend) Si Shen Long. This relieves everyone a bit.

But then Si Shen Long beats the crap out of Goku and Vegeta.

Which, again, makes everyone pretty reasonably distressed.

However, it was all only a ruse that Goku and Si Shen Long cooked up, to fool Yi Shen Long into trusting that Si had been reborn with Yi's Minus energy. He was actually reborn from Goku's Plus energy. Everyone is, again, pretty relieved.

Si takes Yi high into the air inside a small supernova, so that he might kill him.

So Yi shoots the Dragon Balls, including his own, into Si, before the explosion.

... which causes Yi to take over Si's body, so Si dies instead.

And then he beats the shit out of Goku some more.

And after protecting Goku from death, Vegeta loses too much ki and reverts to normal.

... which again, and understandably so, makes everyone pretty stressed out.

With no Bruits Wave emitter (or um, Senzu Beans? What happened to those, guys?), neither Goku, Vegeta, nor any of the other Saiyans can be given the proper ki boost or radiation required to turn SSJ4. (There's also a weird moment where Vegeta and Goku imply in an argument - well, Goku asks a question and Vegeta screams an answer - where Vegeta implies he can't turn SSJ4 at all without being hit with Bruits Waves. I dunno why that would be, but I'm going to guess it's because he hasn't got a tail?)

And on top of everything else, ODB explains to Kibitoshin (and the audience) that if Yi Shen Long isn't defeated, the Minus energy from the seven Dragon Balls will once again consume the Earth... and then spread from there, consuming everything in its path until the universe is eaten by it. He doesn't explain how that was stopped last time (y'know, in episode 48 when he mentioned this has happened one other time with Dragon Balls), so perhaps since Gogeta destroyed the Minus energy barrier, which was keeping Earth cut off from the rest of the universe, making it so it would only consume that planet. (In which case, good fuckin' goin' Gogeta.) But whatever the case...

Everyone is fucked.

With this, we have Masayuki Uchiyama's final episode as Animation Supervisor for Dragon Ball. Sure, his finger prints are all over Kai, but this is the last work he did directly for DB.
