As Goku's hand recoils with a familiar burn, it becomes clear that Yi Shen Long doesn't just possess the strength of his comrades, but has each of their unique abilities too!
Yi hits Goku with an onslaught of San, Liu, and Wu Shen Longs' abilities...
... but Goku gets back up from it, saying that once he experiences a technique, it can't work on him again!!

As Goku recovers from Yi's vicious melee, he realizes that his sight has finally returned...
... so it's time to nail Yi Shen Long with a Kamehameha, Ryuken combo!!
Goku's Ryuken explodes, sending Yi Shen Long's remains raining down from the sky.
... only, they're Wu Shen Long's signature electric goop.
Uh oh.

In gaining every technique from the other Evil Dragons, Yi now has Wu Shen Long's ability to regenerate himself... just like Majin Boo... and Cell. Which means our heroes are in for a long fucking night.

Using Liu Shen Long's whirlwind techniques, Yi Shen Long proceeds to beat the crap out of everyone - even Satan and Chichi, for crying out loud. (Gotta admit, at least he's clever enough to cover his bases.) With no other sign of victory in sight, Goku grabs hold of Yi Shen Long's spiky back...
... and prepares to Chaozu himself.
"Kakarotto, that technique has literally only worked one time, and it was against Yamcha."

Vegeta arrives and talks Goku out of using the technique he used against Boo, given that it... failed then, will fail now. (I mean, it couldn't even kill Nappa.) Instead, Vegeta and Bulma have a much better plan: Make Vegeta a Super Saiyan 4.
Bulma fires up her Ultra-Bruits Wave machine...
... and hits Vegeta with enough radiation to give Superman cancer.

Mr. Satan tries to calm them down...
... and they cruelly agree that he is the worst.

Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta unleash their full power. But even with that, Vegeta says they won't have enough strength to best Yi Shen Long. Goku tries to convince him that they don't have a choice - but he hasn't been paying attention to the last two major story arc conclusions. Vegeta has a plan.

ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand is why SSJ4 Goku is an adult but he reverts back to a kid when not transformed. Why isn't he a tiny monkey? They should have just gotten rid of Kid Goku at that point if he was just going to fight in SSJ4 all the time.

I had a theory about it the other day. SSJ4 is some kind of oozaru/SSJ, right? And all oozarus are the same size, no matter if they're adults or kids. Maybe when Goku turns SSJ4 he basically goes to a transformation like the great ape...

Yeah, I've always seen SSJ4 as a sort of "true" Oozaru. Like how Oozaru multiplies your strength by 10... SSJ4 does that, but with the Super Saiyan multiplier as well. Which makes SSJ4, at the very least, 20 times stronger than a Saiyan's base form. Crazy.
