Dragon Ball GT ep 55 - Bulma in Action! The Project to Rebuild Vegeta

After a mild warm up, Si Shen Long and Son Goku have become their ultimate forms for a battle that will surely rock the cosmos themselves.

... but first, they have to stand around doing this for awhile.

Vegeta senses Goku and Si Shen Long's extraordinary ki, even from all the way in Metro West. No longer willing to sit by and leave it all the Kakarotto, Vegeta is about to fly off to join in the fight, when Bulma stops him. She has a plan that will ensure he'll win, if he's just patient with her.

Of course, to Vegeta, being "patient" means exercising so hard that you blow up the machine you're on.

"Aw, crumbs."

So Vegeta jumps in the shower and begins to think about when he first arrived on Earth, and his first encounter with Goku.

Vegeta was a Saiyan elite then, and Kakarotto was merely the cast off leavings of the low born Saiyan fighters. And the difference in their abilities showed it. But despite Vegeta's clear martial superiority, Kakarotto's techniques gave him an edge.

An edge that cost Vegeta the fight, and nearly his life too. But that would have been the kind thing for Kakarotto to do. Instead he chose to let Vegeta live; To spare his life. And in doing so, sparking a hatred and obsession with overcoming Kakarotto that took Vegeta years to overcome.

Then they met again, on Planet Namek, where Kakarotto became the first person among their generation to reach the legendary form of Super Saiyan.

And he did it without ever sacrificing his sense of self.

Time moved on, and Vegeta became a Super Saiyan too, but it was never enough. Kakarotto was always, always one step ahead of him. And Vegeta found himself growing comfortable on Earth. He had a wife, a child, and he found himself enjoying the feeling.

So Vegeta gave himself over to Babidi, hoping to remove his attachment, to gain strength greater than Kakarotto's, and finally defeat the man who dared to spare his life.

... But once again, Kakarotto saw through him.

And Vegeta finally let go of his anger, his frustration, and stopped trying to get stronger for the sake of beating his rival... But to get stronger for the same reason as Kakarotto -- to test his own limits and push beyond them.

After Vegeta's "shower", he grabs himself a can of sports drink and goes to see what Bulma's cooking up for him.

It turns out she's figured out how to turn him into a Super Saiyan 4.

Using the tech she developed while Baby's thrall, Bulma is going to shoot Vegeta full of Bruits waves to turn him SSJ4 the same as Goku did. Without Baby inside of him, Vegeta will retain his mind and full abilities when he turns Golden Oozaru, unlike Goku did at first, making his transformation into SSJ4 even smoother than Goku's.

So Vegeta is back in the game.

"And later, I'm going to fuck a big red monkey."

Meanwhile...

    1. He said it wouldn't matter if Kakarotto achieved SSJ4 or 5, he was still going to surpass him. Basically, it isn't Vegeta confirming such a form exists, but saying if it does, he'll be sure to reach it too.

  2. I cannot stop laughing.
Though the first few flashbacks had me fooled wondering were it really happened in the episode.
