Dragon Ball Z ep 128 - Goku's Double Shock!! Caught Between Illness and Adversary

Dr. Gero's Artificial Humans, the deadly #19 and #20, came prepared with an encyclopedic knowledge of Son Goku's strengths, weaknesses, abilities, and allies... but the Red Ribbon Army scientist failed to give his cyborgs information about Goku's greatest feat: Becoming a legendary Super Saiyan.

As Goku transforms, #20 is surprised by such an error in calculation... but is still confident that #19 can fight Goku, and win.

Though seemingly superior in every way to the cyborg, Goku's ki begins to decrease.

And surprising everyone except Yamcha (nice warning btw), Goku's Kamehameha, meant to end the battle, is absorbed by #19!!

Piccolo notices Goku's sloppy attempts to rush the fight, but it's Gohan who realizes what's really going wrong with his father...

The heart virus, as predicted by Trunks from the future, has finally gripped our hero! What inconvenient timing!

(That's really all there is to this episode. Half of it is this fight between Goku and 19, and the other half is a long flashback of the Red Ribbon Army Saga... as if saying, 'Hey, remember when this show was fucking awesome?')

    1. There's a short filler sequence in this episode where Muten Roshi and Oolong look at porn with Chaozu, and Maron shows up, having not aged at all in 3 years, looking for Kuririn. But that's really just so they have a reason to show 7 minutes of flashbacks to Dragon Ball. Decided not to cover it in the review because nobody will miss it. (I think.)

  2. I still think DBZ is awesome at this point. I like they mystery aspect to this point in the show, and the Red Ribbon Arc is my least favorite part of Dragon Ball.

  3. Could be worse. Could have been the infamous 5 minutes.
